Meet the Fam

Why We do what we do…

We wanna create and document unique and dynamic adventures for our couples in hopes to get the couples we elope beyond the standard tourist loops and to truly immerse themselves in the beauty, history, wildlife, geology, and pristine open spaces of the western United States – in particular, our spectacular National Parks and public lands, to which we owe our inspiration. They are at the very foundation of our business.

HEYOOOO! I'm Mal, the founder and original elopement photographer of Vows with Views. Over the past decade, I've planned and photographed hundreds of elopements all over the world.

Roused by nature, travel, and The Great Outdoors - I love backpacking, surfing, climbing, and wild, off-road adventures. I get inspired by outdoorsy couples who are as stoked about Earth’s great wonders and beauty as much as I am 😊

I LOVE helping them make their wedding trip into one of the raddest and most adventurous experiences of their lives 😍

For almost a decade, I have been helping couples elope in Kauai on some of the world’s dopest beaches. But then a pandemic took over the world and made it really hard for couples to travel to my little jungle island.

So, five years ago I made the career-altering decision to expand my adventure elopement biz to all sorts of sweet places on the mainland. In particular, to some of my favorite mountain ranges and national parks, where I’ve spent a TON of personal time exploring over the years.

If you’re planning to get married, let the rad lil adventure team that I’ve handpicked and brought together be your besties! We’ll bring the stoke, you bring the love story, and together, we’ll all let nature charm us😜

As an avid adventurer, I have crafted a life around my passions in the great outdoors.

Whether it be climbing, surfing, canyoneering, or rafting, I find my truest self moving through wild landscapes in the outside realm!

After graduating with a major in Environmental Design at CU Boulder, I strived to connect my skills in creativity with my love for adventure.

Now, as an officiant and certified American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA) guide, I get to apply both of my passions to one thing: cultivating an experience of shared love and connection within the natural world.

As your officiant & Adventure guide, I am so excited to help co-create this elopement trip and take part in such a significant moment in y’all’s life. Let's do this thing!

For me, loving the outdoors was a family affair. Like clockwork every summer my dad packed up the Ford and hit the open road with me and my brothers. Our extended journeys across the great American West fostered a deep appreciation for nature and all things adventurous.

That spirit of adventure never left and has served me well in my career as a filmmaker. After graduating from film school I traveled the country until I landed on the tiny island of Kauai. It was there that I spent the better part of a decade telling the stories of people. This experience has made my life more people focused. And I have come to learn that the true joys in life come from doing life with others and sharing their special moments.

Now I find myself back in the American West ready for a brand new adventure- telling the love stories and capturing intimate moments of couples who enjoy the great outdoors just as much as I do.

I’ll help you relive the adventure you chose for your big day while helping you make it as special and memorable as possible. That means capturing the all the moments you want to share with those you love and relive again and again!
