Waterfall Rappels, Alpine Lakes & Sunsets in the Sand Dunes: O + D’s Colorado Elopement

O + D’s elopement wasn’t a one-day thing. It was a 5-day wedding road trip through some of the wildest landscapes in Colorado—from golden aspens to mountaintop views and gigantic sand dunes, these two covered a lotta ground on their wedding week!

Day One: Jeep Rides + Sunset Vows

They got ready at camp, tucked in a quiet aspen grove just starting to show its fall colors. And let me just say—O took my advice and did not skimp on the dress. I always say the bigger you go, the better the pics—and baby, she went big! (She did her part, and yes, I did mine.)

After getting all spiffed up, they hopped in the back of the Jeep and we rallied up a high alpine pass to take in the views and shoot some sic pics.

At sunset, we took one of the most scenic 4x4 trails up to a gorgeous ceremony spot. It was quiet. Scenic. Just them.

Day Two: Canyoneering + Waterfall Rappels

The next day was all about getting stoked and soaked. They geared up for a full whitewater canyoneering adventure—rappelling through waterfalls and climbing around sculpted canyon walls. It was a wild way to spend their first official day labeled “married.”

Days Three–Five: Dunes

We hit the road and made our way to Great Sand Dunes National Park. Since they had a Jeep, we made good use of it—off-roading into the dunes to find a killer spot with nobody around.

As the sun started to dip, they kicked off their shoes, climbed high into the sand, and signed their marriage license to finally seal the deal.

Then they went back to the campsite and finished the rest of their wedding cake!

Why It Worked:

Because they followed the fun. No big production—just five solid days of real connection, epic trust in us, and going with the flow.
